The challenge
People with inherited metabolic disorders follow low-protein diets in which every food counts. The Hôpital Robert-Debré (AP-HP) in Paris wanted to give patients and families a tool to work out everyday portions within the limit set by their dietitian.
The solution
An app built around a portion calculator: pick the foods and it works out the weight and portions of each serving, up to the daily maximum. Patients sign in with an activation code from their dietitian, which sets their own restriction.
What we built
- Portion and weight calculator for each food
- Activation code that sets each patient’s restriction
- Fruit and vegetable cards with the weight of one portion
- Low-protein recipes with nutritional analysis
- Logo, app icon and launch screen
- For iPhone, iPad and Android, in French and English
Result
Published in 2017. Version 2.0, in 2019, added portions per amino acid to every recipe.
